About Us

Legends & Legacies helps older adults be heard through Life Story Recordings and resident led podcasts delivered within a safeguarding first framework.

We create structured recording encounters that capture identity, lived experience, and personal history in the resident’s own words. Sessions are paced carefully and shaped around dignity, consent, and resident choice. Residents retain ownership of what is recorded and decide what, if anything, is shared.

Care homes are at the heart of our work. Where appropriate, we also work with older adults in the community, maintaining a safeguarding first approach and consistent care standards. The focus remains the same: meaningful conversation, genuine connection, and a finished recording that families and care teams can value.

Our work supports person centred care and helps evidence resident voice and participation. It is not delivered as entertainment, skills training, or therapy.

About the Founder

Matthew Marsh is the founder of Legends & Legacies, bringing over 17 years’ experience across aged care, community support, and media production.

Before establishing Legends & Legacies, Matthew worked with Wintringham Specialist Aged Care, supporting older adults experiencing homelessness, cognitive decline, and social isolation. His role centred on person-centred care, advocacy, safeguarding, and ensuring individuals could access appropriate health and community services. This work required calm judgement, clear communication, and a deep respect for dignity — particularly when supporting people living with dementia.

Alongside his care-sector experience, Matthew developed a strong creative background within the Australian Football League, co-hosting and producing community podcasts and live events. This sharpened his skills in structured facilitation, attentive listening, and high-quality audio production.

Legends & Legacies brings these disciplines together — safeguarding-led practice and professional recording standards — ensuring stories are preserved with care, clarity, and respect.
